Presenters:

Anne Jamieson, Senior ManagerAnne is Senior Manager of the Toronto Enterprise Fund, founding member of the Social Enterprise Council of Canada, chair of the Ontario Social Economy Roundtable, steering committee member of the Toronto Community Benefits Network, and supporter of Social Enterprise Toronto.

Jerome Kisting, Manager - Jerome Kisting is a Manager at United Way Toronto where he splits his time between supporting the start up of social enterprises funded by the Toronto Enterprise Fund and managing relationships with United Way member agencies.

This talk, speakers intend to explore deeper conversation about "Investing for Impact." The discussion will explore:

  • Get an overview of the six-pillar policy framework
  • Learn about the sector’s achievements in the past five years
  • Discuss what still needs to be done

Presenter Bio

Anne Jamieson, Senior Manager

Anne Jamieson joined the Toronto Enterprise Fund in 2003. In addition to overseeing grants to a portfolio of social enterprises, Anne is committed to building a strong, vibrant and sustainable social enterprise sector in Canada. She launched the Canadian Conference on Social Enterprise series in 2004, is a founding member of the Social Enterprise Council of Canada, and co-chairs the Ontario Social Economy Roundtable. Anne’s background is in small business development and, for contrast, international commercial finance. Anne holds an MBA from Ivey, and an Honours BA from U of T; she is bilingual in English and French.

Jerome Kisting, Manager

Jerome Kisting has worked for the Toronto Enterprise Fund since 2009; he divides his time between TEF and United Way Toronto. Prior to joining the Toronto Enterprise Fund he was self-employed as a management consultant in Namibia where he helped non-profits develop market strategies and improve organizational process. He brings a unique development perspective honed in a developing country context. Jerome has been involved at the community level volunteering in Canada and serving on various boards in Namibia. Jerome has an MBA from the University of Stellenbosch in South Africa. In his spare time, he enjoys volunteering, spending time outdoors, and reading.
